Fairhaven’s newest missionary family – Samuel and Hana Kim along with their two boys, Sammy (4) and John (2) – started full-time deputation to China in May. They plan to work under a veteran missionary in Beijing for two years while attending language school and then move to Yanbian, China – a border city of North Korea, which is home to 1.2 million Chinese-Koreans.
This spring, the Kim family took a six-week trip to Korea and China. They had the unique opportunity of ministering and sharing their burden for China in nine Baptist churches in South Korea. The highlight of the trip was seeing Samuel’s 82-year-old grandmother get saved! In Beijing, they saw the practical side of living in China. God used this trip to confirm the calling and the burden for China in the hearts of both Samuel and Hana.
The Kims have partnered with Fundamental Baptist World-Wide Mission (FBWWM) and attended FBWWM’s Annual Institute of Missions in June. Currently they have 20 meetings scheduled; please pray with them as they work to fill their deputation schedule. They believe that God already has the churches hand-picked that will assist them and help both financially and in prayer. They are working diligently to find those churches. Praise God – they already have over 10% of their support raised. Their goal is to be on the field by the end of 2016.
The Kim family’s information and video presentation are on a secured webpage on the Fairhaven Baptist Church website. We have chosen not to openly distribute copies or post videos online for their safety as they are reaching a Communist country. For inquiries regarding meetings, please contact them by phone at 219-628-1088 or by email at KimsToChina@gmail.com – a link to the secured website and a password will be provided for pastors.
